by Richard Tomkins Thousand Oaks, Calif. (UPI) May 1, 2015 UPI

Test and evaluation services for U.S. missile defense weapon systems are to be performed by Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. under a $64.7 million task order.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Target Execution, Asset and Material Development, Lethality Testing and Analysis, or Team DELTA, task order is for three to four years, depending on options exercised.

Teledyne Technologies Inc., parent company of Teledyne Brown Engineering, said the task order for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command is for provision of services such as test execution, lethality development and validation, analyses, flight and ground test data collection, live fire test and evaluation, and missile integration and flight testing for weapon systems.

"For decades, Teledyne has been a leading provider of missile defense software, hardware in the loop simulation, and test and integration services," said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Teledyne. "We are proud to bring our team's test and evaluation expertise to the U.S. government, and look forward to providing high-technology solutions to meet our military's current and future needs."

The task order, under a Test Execution Services and Launch Augmentation contract, supports the Test Execution Support Division within the Technical Center at USASMDC/ARSTRAT.
